In summer, the actual shop floor temperature can hit 32 to 38 deg C with 75 to 85 percent RH, and the seal is applied correctly at the line but de-bonds during the first week of storage or transit. - Ask for the application temperature range and humidity range (typically 15 to 35 deg C, 40 to 70 percent RH). Confirm whether the factory applies the seal in a controlled environment.
- Send the factory a 5-piece sample of the actual box stock (the same texture, lamination, and finish that the production run will use). Ask them to apply 5 seals and ship the sealed samples back for the 24-hour dwell test.
- Run a 24-hour dwell test on the actual box stock at 40 deg C / 80 percent RH. Inspect for edge lift, bubbles, or full release. Reject any seal that lifts more than 1 mm at the edge or shows more than 5 bubbles per seal.
- Run a cross-hatch peel test (cut a 10 x 10 grid through the seal with a sharp blade, apply tape over the grid, peel the tape). The seal should show less than 5 percent area removal.
